This was such a unique wedding stationary. She wanted hot pink, but he wasn't totally keen on that. So they each picked a color. I love how it all turned out.
I had the opportunity to photograph a wonderful mama and her two sweet daughters. What a special experience. To step back and watch a mom love on her babies. To capture sweet moments of hair braiding and the loving stroke of a mom's hand on her baby girl's soft blonde hair. Every mama needs to have photos taken with her children while they're small. We all deserve to have pictures like these to look back on when our babies are no longer innocent and little. When we are still the most beautiful person they've ever seen.
I have a love hate relationship with logo design. At least I used to. After years of practice, I've turned my frown upside-down. Here are a few of my favorites.
Oh these brides. I loved working with these two. The only thing they told me when I set out to create their wedding stationary is that they wanted to include string lights at their reception. The two love birds said their vows on a quiet beach in Hawaii and then returned home to have their reception a month later. I just love how the dreamy blue watercolor gave these invites a little bit of the clear blue ocean vibe. That combined with the swirly letters of their wedding logo. We printed them on a watercolor paper card stock. So good. They turned out just perfect.
Here are some of the additional artwork they had me create for the reception.
I'm not even going to try and hide it. I love babies. I have yet to shoot a birth, but someday my dream is going to come true. But for now, this beachy bump and these baby shower invites will have to do.
This is one of the sweetest families. Just thinking about the fun we had running around and playing at Mirabu Park makes me smile. Each one of these individuals has such a warm kindness, it makes you happy to know that there are people like them in the world.
Just an FYI for anyone looking to have a new born session... I include a custom announcement card. Because baby announcements are #1 best design work. Period.
Sitting here thinking of what to write, I literally just took a deep breath and let out a big sigh. One of those sighs where you've finally reached a goal. The first milestone in a long series, but its the start. I really hadn't put any thought into how I would begin my first blog post in sharing my work. I have been thinking and planning and thinking for at least a year about when the right time would be to finally take the leap; take a step toward being a mama boss and not an employee. But I hadn't until this very moment, when I had this website all set up except for adding the beginning content to the blog. My portfolio blog. So (another sigh), instead of sharing all my plans, who I am, where I've been, what I plan for my future, I'm just going to share some images. Some images that mean the most to me. A few of my first baby, Hazen. And all those other things, in time. Thank you for being here. If you are reading this, it really means the world to me.
Momma. Spokane. Maker of things. Design is my 9-5 and working to make photography my golden hour.
